CUSCUZ Romeu e Julieta!
BASIC CUSCUZ (The Base for Everything)
Ingredients
- 1 cup flaked cornmeal (flocão de milho)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 tsp salt
How to Make
- Mix cornmeal, water, and salt in a bowl.
- Let it rest for 5–10 minutes until hydrated.
Cook:
- Microwave: 3–5 minutes, covered
- Steamer: 10–15 minutes over boiling water
A practical and delicious dessert, combining soft cuscuz with the bold flavors of cheese and guava.
You will need:
- 1 cup flaked cornmeal for cuscuz
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 200g Requeijão
- 200g guava paste, or cubed
How to make it:
- Mix cornmeal, milk, sugar, and salt. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes.
- Cook using microwave or steamer until soft.
- While warm, layer with cheese and guava cubes or paste.
- Cover for 1–2 minutes so the cheese melts slightly.
- Cover with more guava!
